Behind the New Logo and Identity of Blanton and Sons

Established in 1998 by Jimmy Blanton as Blanton’s Heating and Air, we found that it was time for a rebrand as we continue into a new chapter. We proudly introduce our new look and name, Blanton and Sons. It has been 20 years since the beginning and we have found ourselves as leaders in Charleston’s air conditioning and mechanical industry. We have grown so much as a team and as a family. We couldn’t ask for a better staff and crew of technicians that go above and beyond to serve our customers in the Lowcountry.

For many years, the polar bear has been our mascot and while despite an intense affection for the bear and all it’s cuteness, it was time to display our professionalism and experience. We have retired the bear, as we see it highly used among competitors. These days, the line between heating and cooling have become known as one type of service. Therefore, we decided also to retire the red color and go with a monotone blue color palate. Bright blues can be seen with darker navy blues to give an all around mood of “Keeping Cool”.

Take a look at where our branding has changed over the years:

The identity can work on different visual wavelengths but it all feels consistent and coherent. The older brands were generic and felt distant which seemed contrary to the cool vibes that we aim to convey. It has come time to separate from the competition and doing so in a unique voice with good design.
